Indeed, nothing is perfect in
this world. With advanced technology, a
powerful military nation, and materially wealthy, the city of dreams that was
corrupted by affluence, superiority, and power; This was how the city of
Atlantis being described from the book of Ken Feder, a professor of archeology
entitled "Encyclopedia of Dubious Archeology." Defying a bit on what
Plato has written from his dialogues, the "Timaeus" and the
"Critias" in 360 B.C. on how he pictured Atlantis a legendary island
nation.

Why did it vanish? Did it
exist? What happened to the utopian society?
For over 2,000 years, western
philosophers and historians have made Atlantis the "lost" island,
the subject of interest on the said great island's whereabout.
Said to be larger than
ancient Libya and Asia Minor (modern Turkey) combined. Half-human half gods
allegedly founded an idealistic civilization, which became a pronounced naval
power. The lavish island was said to have precious metals; gold and silver also
have great quantities of exotic wildlife with an array of panoramic mountains
in the north shore and plain in the south, almost perfect place to live.
There were many theories about the location of Atlantis. Some would say it is situated in the Atlantic
Ocean; another is in the Strait of Gibraltar, or it could be on either side of
the Gulf of Laconia's mountains were called the "Pillars of
Hercules." It can be the
geographical location described in the ancient reports that the Greek
Philosopher Plato is basing his story.
But up to this day, the exact
whereabouts of Atlantis is still unknown.
With that, many believe that
the story about Atlantis is nothing but a myth. Others will say that it is an
illustration of Plato's ideal state, while some will insist that it is based on
the real historical disaster.

Believed to be descendants of
the God of the sea Poseidon, Atlantis's kings became diluted as they mixed with
mortals.
Based on Plato's story,
Atlantis's existence is about 9,000 years before his own time, and it has been passed
down to poets and others. But no record can support the said claim or did it
ever exist. Atlantis enslaved its enemies and has conquered much of Western
Europe and Africa by around 9600 B.C.
Over the years, dreadful
volcanic eruption and floods had happed. Including one event similar to the
destruction of the island, believed to be around 1600 B.C., an enormous
volcanic eruption devastated Santorini's island and the Aegean Sea near Greece.
About the same time of the volcanic eruption, the Minoan civilization
disappeared. According to Robert Ballard, the National Geographic
explorer-in-residence who discovered the wreck of Titanic in 1895, it doesn't
coincide with what Plato said Atlantis was destroyed.
It could have been a perfect
place if Atlantis still exists, a story moral and spiritual people who lived in
an advanced society, utopian civilization. But truly, nothing is perfect due to
greed, insignificance, and morally bankrupt; the people took its toll for
losing their way, so the Gods punished them.
Gods send that "one
terrible night of fire and earthquake" caused the Atlantis to sink into
the sea and vanished forever.
